A major piece of history that cannot be brushed aside. Very nice displays and tells the story of the treatment of native Americans. Look forward to visiting again when the new museum opens in 2018.
The staff was very attentive to our group. We had a small group. They were welcoming and knowledgeable. The displays were authentic and well presented. From the front building appears small, so I was surprised at the extensive collection. They are currently working on a new building location that promises to allow expansion, artisans to be on site, and enable them to bring some of the museum's collection in storage to he displayed. I look forward to seeing them in their new location. In the meantime, I would definitely visit again. I didn't have enough time to see everything.
A museum that tells the story of a people by those people is rare and refreshing and many of the visitors were also Seneca so it's really a place for members of the tribe and others to enjoy, not just for tourists. The art, including art and jewelery and books for sale, is beautiful. The man working there gave us a personal tour.
A great museum - one of WNY'S best kept secrets. A great place to learn about Seneca history & culture. The staff is great, polite, & helpful. The museum also hosts a lecture series & other events throughout the year. This museum puts the "living" in living history.
Great guides willing to answer all questions. Wonderful museum to learn the culture and beliefs of the original inhabitants of N.Y..
