Excellent park! My favorite in NY. Nothing beats this state park in N, it's a wonderful HUGE park. My favorite spot in park is Quaker because it's more remote. Science Lake is beautiful. Trails are awesome and there's a big assortment so if you aren't a hiker you can also find flat easy trails. Such a great place.

Always a beautiful trip, 20+ years. The lake is great. The sights are nice, but the "fireplaces" just suck! Just a pile of do-it-yourself rocks. And the ashes are just piled up wherever around the sight. They can afford a beautiful new concession/event center and new fire boxes in the sights, but no fire place. Most of the people are polite, but when they are not there is nobody around, ranger or park police. But those are the negatives. I still look forward to going back next year!

Allegany State Park is a Beautiful Park, full of tons of Outdoor activities to do. Plenty of Stream, Lake, and Pond Fishing to do. There are miles of Trails, Cabins, and two Campgrounds to Camp in. I love ASP. I am a local who has lived near the park for 47 years, and I frequent the Park every Summer. The Park Staff do an amazing job with caring for the Park, and the park has recently undergone some upgraded restorations, which is great. The Park offers gorgeous scenery, wildlife, picnic grounds, stores, and gift shops. The Park is truly one of my favorite places to go each year. If you haven't ever visited ASP, or every stayed for a lengthy period of time,..you really should make the effort to do so,..you won't regret it:)

One of my favorite places in the world! Husband and I camp here every October for our anniversary, and we take picnics here as often as we can. Park offers hiking, skiing, horse and snowmobile trails, swimming, kayak/canoe/paddle boat rentals, and sports fields. There are handy and well-stocked general store and gift shops, as well as a restaurant in the admin building. Camping facilities vary by location; some offer a campsite for tents with no electricity and pit toilets, some offer electric and heat, fridges and stoves, with bathhouses, and the new full-service cottages include bathrooms and kitchens. There is also an RV park. Three beautiful lakes, a new marsh walk with a bird blind, some of the most breathtaking scenery in WNY. Well worth a visit, even if just for a day!

My only complaint is some of the campers, people need to realize animals belong in nature and we have to coexist with them so stop complaining about bears and animals. It's their land. The campers could learn a thing or two from people out west, no one calls police or complains about wildlife here.

Nice trip down to Allegany today. Checked out some cabins on Condon Trail to rent this coming winter. The park is just as beautiful camping in the winter. In fact I like it in the winter, it's a little quieter and less people. The restaurant was open, quite a few people eating out on the back patio. Quite a few people camping too, even though it was Sunday. Anyway it's a beautiful Park, I've been enjoying it since I was 3 years old.
